Each material has its own properties. PVC windows are usually the most affordable choice and offer excellent insulation. Aluminium windows are stronger, slimmer and more expensive, but last longer. Wooden windows add character but require more maintenance. We'll gladly help you decide which material suits you best.
A fixed window is simpler than a tilt-and-turn window because no hardware is needed. Large sliding windows or special shapes (e.g. round or trapezoid) require more material and labour, and therefore more finishing.
Since 2023, double glazing is the minimum standard in Flanders. Double glazing (HR++) is the baseline; triple glazing insulates even better. If you want extra security, you can opt for laminated glass. Solar-control glass helps prevent overheating and is a smart choice for south-facing windows.
Think of ventilation grilles, insect screens, integrated sun shading or a specific colour on the inside. Aluminium windows can be powder-coated in any RAL colour; PVC windows are now also available in many colours via foil. Every extra option affects the total. Replacing a window is more than just the window itself: the old frame must be removed, the new one sealed watertight, and the interior and exterior finishing restored. In a full renovation, you can work more cost-effectively by having multiple windows installed at once.
